Solar Gate Openers are available in a variety of residential and commercial styles. Attention should be paid to the idle current draw of a solar
operator and the part of the nation where it's been install which determines the size of the solar panel and size of storage battery that is needed. The
more efficient the control board, the smaller the solar panel needed. Solar gate systems need efficient peripheral components like keypad,loop
detectors. Solar panels and batteries for driveway gates should be sized accordingly to location. Sunny areas will require smaller panels. In areas
with prolonged overcast periods, more battery storage capacity will be required.
Solar Panels for LiftMaster Gate Operators are non-breakable 10 watt or 20 watt solar panels for the LiftMaster DC powered gate operators
(requires solar power adapter for Miracle operators). Simply plug in the adapter into the existing electronic control box. Panel has to be
mounted in a location that receives direct sunlight for most of the day to function properly.
Solar Panels For GTO Gate Operators - Solar panels will charge the battery for any of the GTO gate operators. Solar panels are optional, operators run on
transformer/battery. Solar panels are the next best choice in remote areas. The size and quantity of solar panels needed depends on many factors. Panels must receive
direct sunlight for most of the day. If you are located in unsunny Ohio, solar power does not work well. Solar applications should use all low current consumption
accessories. 5 watt and 10 watt solar panels available.
EMX Solar Panel - The EMX SP-1W solar panel powers accessories for gate and door applications by trickle charging 9V and 12V batteries. Designed for the EMX
IRB-4X-TX, P63, and P44 photoeyes but can be used with any product requiring 9 or 12 volts at 25MA or less. Compact size is only 5-1/2" square and 3/4" thick. Comes
with 6' cable. Enclosed in a clear polycarbonate housing. Panels must receive direct sunlight for most of the day.
